The Beginning: A quest for comfort and health

Drew’s journey into the world of Passivhaus began with a simple yet ambitious goal: to improve the comfort and health of his own home. Frustrated by poor air quality and energy inefficiency, he dived headfirst into researching ways to create a home that was comfortable and healthy while improving energy passive efficiency.

For months, Drew immersed himself in books, blogs, and research about Passivhaus principles. What started as curiosity quickly turned into fascination. The idea of creating a home that used minimal energy while providing year-round comfort and fresh air became a driving force.

Discovering the best ventilation systems

As Drew learned more about Passivhaus standards, he identified one critical element: mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR). This system ensures fresh air flows continuously through the home while retaining heat (or coolness), drastically improving air quality.

Drew began a deep investigation into the best MVHR systems on the market, determined to find a solution that met the highest standards. His dedication led him to connect with industry professionals, test different systems, and even install a couple in his own home to see their real-world impact.
